It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

You can usually be confident that you’re going to have a good Christmas party when you have several hundred mince pies, dozens of bottles of wine to mull, a stack of glitter, a festive playlist and some lovely guests expected. And so it proved for Dot Dot Dot last night.

It was great to have so many of our lovely guardians come along to celebrate – working with such fantastic people is the thing that makes our jobs here worthwhile, and it was great to be able to chat and catch up on some of the fantastic things guardians are doing.

We were delighted to be able to have our mince pies made by Denis, a service user at homelessness charity Connection at St Martin’s. The charity offers its clients chances to get experience of work, to help them get themselves back on their feet, and these kinds of commissions create real deadlines – and real income – for them.

At Dot Dot Dot we’re always glad to be able to buy from charities and fellow social enterprises whenever we can – it feels like the right thing to do, and it’s lovely to know who has made the things you buy – and most importantly of all, the pies were absolutely delicious, with flaky, buttery pastry.

We had a table of crafty bits for people to make Christmas cards for poorly children in need of somCopy of 3e festive wishes – and we made more than 50 cards covered with pom-poms, glitter, stickers and cheerful messages. They’ll be distributed to ill kids at Great Ormond Street Hospital next week.

All of us in the office really enjoyed it – and we hope everyone who came along did too!
