First-timer property guardian

We visited one of our newest Dot Dot Dot communities in High Barnet and met one of our property guardians there. After braving the snow and cold, it was just a short walk from the tube station to our community in Barnet.

It is Heba’s first time as a property guardian. After returning from travelling she came back and was staying with a friend whilst looking for a new property.

Heba said “I saw the advert for Dot Dot Dot and was intrigued to find out more. Initially it was the low cost that attracted me but I also thought the social enterprise side of the business was really cool. I liked the fact that being a guardian with Dot Dot Dot encouraged me to give back and make me do something good with my free time.”

Heba had only moved into her 2-bed flat that week but she had already made a good start on making it feel homely. “I used freecycle to get most of my things, the sofa was free and the white goods too. So I only had to spend a small amount on things like the rug and flooring.”

“There’s still a few more things I want to do to the place but I’m really happy with the property. I work from home so there’s plenty of space for me to live and work without feeling too cramped, and plenty of space for storage.”
