The house is in excellent cosmetic condition and is spectacular, being built on a massive scale with double height rooms, wooden floors and most original features intact. These double rooms in the Peak District have large windows which look out into heavily wooded countryside. There is also a basement area with a washing machine and dryer.

Parking/bike storage: Free parking and bike storage on site.
The local area
The village of Bamford has a lovely atmosphere with a combination of locals and visitors looking to explore the beauty of the Peaks.
The Adventure Hub Indoor Climbing Centre is just 15 minutes walk down the lane – great for those rainy days or during the winter months. They also offer guided climbing courses out in the national park itself.
In whichever direction you choose to begin your walks, you’ll be led across ancient bridges over the River Derwent, following upwards terrain towards gritstone ridges and rambling across striking moorland. The best nearby hiking spots include Bamford Edge and Robin Hood’s Cave – you should also check out the Coach and Horses Rock Formation overlooking Ladybower Reservoir.
A short walk away is the recently revamped Wild Kettle Cafe, serving the best coffee in the area. A great place to finish off a long walk with one of their warming toasties and a mug of tea.
The best local pub, The Anglers Rest, is in the heart of Bamford village. With its charming old fashioned interior and exceptional views, it’s a great spot for a sunny pint in their beer garden or for lunch on a chilly afternoon.

Volunteering opportunities
Dot Dot Dot guardians volunteer at least 16 hours every month for good causes. Here’s a few local volunteering opportunities to get you inspired:
-
Bamford Community Society
Provides a support service to the villages Bamford, Thornhill, Shatton, and Yorkshire Bridge, collecting meds, a keeping in touch phone service, and shopping where individuals can’t get out. -
The Fells
The Fells is a service within the charity Changing Lives which support individuals with housing needs. They are looking for Art Therapists to run arts and crafts sessions weekly for the residents.
Fees and costs
- £495pcm for a double room in the Peak District
- Prices include council tax and utilities.
- No hidden costs, service charges or admin fees
Dot Dot Dot undertakes a licence fee review every twelve months. Broadly, any increases will be based on the rate of inflation at the time of review, but they will also take into account any specific changes in our costs or in the local market. We also look at changes to council tax rates and utilities. Current guardians will be given at least two month’s notice before their licence fees change and new guardians will not face changes for at least six months.
