Shiny and Newham: guardians go litter picking

On Saturday 9th June some of our Newham property guardians were let loose with CleanupUk to get a local park looking fresh and clean.

Five guardians living in Newham met at Cundy Park, litter pickers in hand and ready to fill their bin bags! They were supported by Neeta from CleanupUK.

CleanupUK is a charity whose main focus is on helping those who are most in need, usually in areas of deprivation, to combat the litter problem where they are. Through involvement in this activity, people feel their communities are safer, more welcoming and friendlier.

There was interest from the local community in the park and they even managed to recruit a local person for the next clean up. Anyone is welcome to join the clean ups! There will be a monthly one across different locations in Newham.
