1. Bricks and Mortar Ball for the Darjeeling Children’s Trust
Where: The V&A Museum of Childhood, Bethnal Green, London. E2 9PA
When: Saturday 22nd November 7pm – 2am (but this could be flexible)
The Darjeeling Children’s Trust are holding a fundraising ball and are looking for some enthusiastic volunteers. This small trust aims to break the cycle of poverty in the Darjeeling area by providing greater access to educational opportunities, sponsoring young adults through further education and building an orphanage to house 100 children.

Neighbours in Poplar provide practical support and care to vulnerable people who are living at home, regardless of their faith, age, race, gender, culture, or disability.
They need support for a range of their services, including befriending, gardening, decorating, shopping for clients and office admin support also needed for the charity itself.

3. Tower Hamlets’ Adopt a Garden scheme

4. Cordwainers Garden Winter Garden Day
Where: Cordwainers Garden, Hackney, London E8 3RE

The Cordwainer’s Garden team need lots of green fingers to help to prepare for the winter season ahead. They’re looking for volunteers to help with planting apple trees and bulbs, fixing and sharpening tools, sorting the seed bank, painting and much more!
5. Kids Company
Where: London
When: Christmas day, and ongoing opportunities
Kids Company provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children.
Christmas Day 2014
Kids Company will be holding a huge party in London for 4000 young people and their families with games, storytelling, a Santa’s grotto, food and presents. They also aim to support a further 12,000 in the community with desperately needed food and gift parcels.
They need volunteers to help with stewarding, arts and crafts, sports and games, therapy and relaxation, health and beauty and dinner hall duties.
All volunteers for Christmas Day will require a Kids Company DBS check. To register your interest please email christmasvolunteer@kidsco.org.uk.
