1. Volunteer with Blues Tango Fusion
Where: The Tango Club, Unit 8, The Leather Market, Weston St, SE1 3E

This not-for-profit event brings two different dance communities together to ‘fuse’ Blues and Tango − creating a whole new dance scene called ‘Blues Tango Fusion’! The atmosphere will be fun, creative and experimental − for volunteers, they need:

  • People with creative skills to help design a flyer (before the event)
  • Volunteers on the door on the night

2. Educate people about the environment with ecoACTIVE

ecoACTIVE is an innovative environmental education charity with a reputation for using hands-on, practical approaches to explore complex issues of sustainability.

They create eye-opening experiences for children and adults alike, working with schools and the wider community to develop their understanding of the world around them and give people the skills they need to make things better.

3. Text Santa Helper
Where: Stratford Train Station, Stratford, E15
When:  Between 7am and 7pm on 28th November, 12th December and 19th December

Text Santa, ITV’s charity fundraising appeal is back in 2014 and it’s going to be bigger than ever. The show will be hosted by stars such as Ant and Dec, Alesha Dixon and Paddy McGuinness as well as featuring a number of exciting celebrity appearances.

Text Santa will be taking over stations across London for three days this Christmas. They need volunteers who can give a couple of hours or more to help kick off the appeal with a bang! Contact Lorna Copland on textsanta@guidedogs.org.uk to sign up.

 

4. Volunteer at Wheelchair Tennis Masters 2014
Where: Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, Eton Manor, Leadmill Lane, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E20 3AD
When: from Wednesday 26th November to Sunday 30th November

The world’s best wheelchair tennis players are coming to the Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre for the end of season NEC Masters Tournament. The top 8 ranked players will battle to decide who will be crowned the Wheelchair Tennis Master for 2014. From 26th to 30th November  they are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to make the event an unforgettable experience for spectators, players, officials and sponsors alike.

Volunteers will be asked to do a variety of different things at the tournament, but underpinning all this activity will be the requirement to be a friendly, smiling and welcoming presence for players, officials, sponsors and, of course, spectators.

5. Volunteer at Board games sessions with Volunteer Centre Hackney
When: 1-5 pm, 25th and 28th of October 2014
Where: Gillet Square N16 8AR

Interested in doing some short term volunteering? Universal Board Games, which showcases games from all around the world, are looking for volunteers to:

  • help set up and down tables and chairs
  • play games
  • take photos or videos.
